Cheer Up Your Boyfriend

When your boyfriend is depressed or stressed out, his feelings and attitude will affect you and your relationship. Check out these simple ways on how to cheer up your boyfriend.

1. Determine the reason behind his sadness. Before you cheer up your boyfriend, ask him why he is upset or bothered. It will simply tell him that you care so much on what is going on in his life. Smile and talk to him by using simple words and actions like “Hey sweetie, it looks like you have a bad day today. What is the problem?”

2. Ask your boyfriend how can you help. Once you know the reason why he is depressed, be nice and polite in telling him that you can talk it out. You can show your support to him in many ways depending on the reason why he is depressed.

3. Cook his favorite dinner or bake a cake. This is a sweet gesture on how to cheer up your boyfriend. You can also take him to a romantic dinner if you believe that you are not that good in cooking.

4. Surprise him to a great getaway. You can either take him to an out of town getaway, trip to the beach or a romantic bed and breakfast in the country.

5. Think of the fun things that you do. Plan to do fun things together basing on his interests and hobbies. Either of you can go outdoor activities, check out if he likes the latest local music event or get a massage together.

6. Invite his family or friends in your plans. If your boyfriend has been depressed, inviting his family or friends will cheer him up. Tell them that your boyfriend needs a good getaway together with them to cheer him up and forget the things that makes him depressed. He will be thankful and will appreciate your effort in making him happy.

7. Give him some space. If you feel that you will have a hard time to cheer up your boyfriend, consider giving him some space and let him figure things on his own. Just let him know that if he would like someone to talk to, you are just there for him.

8. When your boyfriend gets mad, back off. If he is giving you some clues that he doesn’t like you to help him or simply if he gets mad then that will be the right time to back off.
